Placement of Dental Implants
In Lansing, Ann Arbor and Brighton, Michigan

There are many different types of dental implants available to our patients in the Lansing area today, and each is designed for a specific function. After meeting with our expert cosmetic dentists, Dr's. DiStefano and Nguyen, during your initial consultation they will recommend the best kind of dental implant for you. Depending on the condition of your jaw and your specific dental situation there are five methods used to permanently attach a dental implant into the mouth.

Root Form Implants: These are the most common method for dental implant placements. They are also known as endosseous or endosteal implants. Root form implants are placed in the jawbone with a titanium cylindrical implant where the natural tooth would appear. If the jawbone is too narrow or short for immediate placement of this implant, the area can be enhanced with bone grafting, or a different placement method can be used, such as a ‘plate form’ implant.
